How can you apply as a volunteer?
Thank you for your interest in being part of the 52nd Hypomeeting Götzis as a volunteer.
Please send us an email at volunteers@meeting-goetzis.at, and we will be happy to add you to our mailing list and keep you updated with all relevant information.
Which areas can I get involved?
Before, during and after the event we need a lot of volunteers, e.g. in the area of:
- Assembly and disassembly
- Passage controls
- Gastronomy (grill, drinks, dish washing, service ...)
- Cash desk
- Merchandising
- Cleaning
- Side Events (Schnellster Montforter, Mösle-Staffel Challenge, Kids' Athletics Cup, face painting)
How much time do I have to invest?
To help us with planning and scheduling, we kindly ask volunteers to sign up for full days whenever possible.
I am traveling from abroad. Is there any financial support for travel and accommodation?
Travel and accommodation costs must be covered by the participants themselves.
Do I get some goodies?
For your support you'll get:
- free entrance on both days of the competition
- Goodie Bag
- meals and drinks during your assignment
- a Hypomeeting T-Shirt
- entrance ticket for your partner
- invitations for our volunteers-party and other events
Do I need previous knowledge or training?
For most tasks there is none special previous experience required. You will on site by your respective group leader appropriately instructed before use.
Do I work alone or in a team?
That varies. Some tasks are completed as a team, while others
be carried out independently. This is communicated in advance when tasks are assigned.
Will my accreditation give me access to the stadium for the entire weekend?
Yes, the accreditation is valid on Saturday and Sunday.
Will I receive meals during my assignment?
Yes, you will receive free meals and drinks in the "Kubus"
on the day of your assignment.
Are there also opportunities to volunteer throughout the year?
Yes, we are looking forward to your support, especially in sustainability, volunteering, graphics/design.
Are there rules for dealing with athletes?
Please always treat everyone with respect and professionalism. Please note that they should concentrate on their competition and not be disturbed. Autograph or selfie requests are only permitted at appropriate moments and with consideration for their time.
Can I also join as a volunteer if I have a full-time job?
Yes, many volunteer assignments are flexible and can be easily combined with a job agree. There are shifts on weekends or evenings.
