Hypomeeting Götzis 2026 with a strong line-up from Austria, Germany and Switzerland

Götzis, April 23, 2026 - The 51st Hypomeeting Götzis will take place on May 30-31 - and there will be a strong field of participants from Austria, Germany and Switzerland at the start. The Kids Athletics Challenge Final will also be enriched by a great innovation.

Ivona Glavas-Dadic, an experienced Austrian athlete who has already proven her class on the international stage several times, will be in the heptathlon line-up at the end of May. Chiara Schuler (AUT) will also be competing in the heptathlon for the fifth time in Götzis.
in Götzis. The Vorarlberg local heroine set two new personal bests in the 200m and 800m at the Hypomeeting Götzis 2025 - this year she will probably be aiming for the magical 6000-point mark again and thus a new personal best in the heptathlon. Chiara Schuler will provide more information about her goals at the 51st Hypomeeting at the first press conference on May 7th.

The reigning world champion and current number 1 in the world rankings Leo Neugebauer will be traveling to Götzis from Germany for the second time. Niklas Kaul (GER), 2019 world champion and last year's ex-aequo third place finisher in Götzis together with Simon Ehammer, is also returning to the Mösle Stadium as an experienced decathlete. His younger sister, Emma Kaul (GER), will also be joining him for the first time. It will be her first time in the heptathlon in Götzis this year. The decathlon starting field from Germany will be completed by Manuel Eitel ,
Fred Isaac Fleurisson and Amadeus Gräber.

Sophie Weißenberg (GER) will celebrate her comeback in Götzis this year after a long injury break. The German heptathlete
German heptathlete is now training in the Netherlands and it can be assumed that Weißenberg - like several other heptathletes
heptathletes - will primarily be targeting the European Championship standard for Birmingham of 6320 points. With Sandrina Sprengel
Sandrina Sprengel, 7th in the current heptathlon world rankings, will also be competing in Götzis. Serina Riedel and Vanessa Grimm will complete the team of
five German athletes for the heptathlon in Götzis.

The Swiss team will be led in the decathlon by indoor world record holder Simon Ehammer. The man from Appenzell has
Appenzell native once again impressively demonstrated his all-around abilities at the world's top level in March at the World Indoor Championships in Torun (POL) by beating the 14-year-old world record set by Ashton Eaton (USA). It will be interesting to see what ambitions the Appenzeller has for the 2026 Hypomeeting Götzis. He is currently ranked fifth in the decathlon world rankings. The Swiss athlete will provide more insights into his goals for Götzis at the first Hypomeeting press conference on May 7.

With Andrin Huber and Finley Gaio, two other strong Swiss decathletes complete the line-up - both have shown consistent performances in recent years and are already experienced Götzis participants.

Annik Kälin leads the Swiss heptathlon starting field. The versatile athlete from Graubünden is ranked 10th in the
heptathlon world ranking (World Ranking) and 11th in the international long jump world ranking, she is one of the best international
all-around athletes and also long jumpers. If she manages a heptathlon in the range of her best performance at the end of May, she will definitely keep the competition for the podium on their toes in Götzis. With Sandra Röthlin (SUI) and Liana Trümpi (SUI), two other Swiss heptathletes will be traveling from the neighbourhood.

There will also be a special highlight outside of the all-around competition: At the final of the Kids Athletics Challenge on Wednesday, May 27th

The children are part of the "WIR Am Kumma" association, which has set itself the task of providing children and young people with disabilities
